Biography

DR. VICTOR SUNDAY UMANAH, is a Lecturer in the General Studies Unit and the Acting Director, Academic Planning Unit, Coal City University, Enugu. He was born in Abak Village, Abak Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. He received his primary and secondary education in Uya Oron/ Eyetong Government School, Oron and Holy Family College, Abak, all in Akwa Ibom State respectively. He holds a Diploma in Religious Studies (1996), Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Studies (2000) both from the Department of Religious and Cultural Studies, University of Calabar, M.A. Religion (Sociology of Religion - 2011) from the Department of Religious and Cultural Studies, University of Uyo, Uyo and PhD Religion (Religion and Society - 2015) from the Department of Religion and Cultural Studies, University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
He has an over whelming capacity and eagerness for research and publication, teaching, learning, and solution driven thinking. During his studentship at the Master’s degree level, he independently embarked on a research in Japan (2009-2011) as one of the countries that permits abortion in limited circumstances including endangerment of health and economic hardship. He has authored and published several articles in renowned local and international scholarly journals especially in his specialty areas of Religion, Culture and Society.
